All four candidates running for two Millburn Township Committee seats will face questions from residents at a virtual forum Sunday, Oct. 4, at 8:30 p.m.

The Millburn-Short Hills Chinese Association is hosting the Zoom event, as first reported by Patch. The forum gives voters a chance to hear from the full field before the Oct. 13 voter registration deadline and the start of early voting on Oct. 24.

The Township Committee is Millburn's governing body. Its five members set the municipal budget, oversee zoning and land-use decisions, and manage township services. Two of those seats are on the Nov. 3 ballot.

The candidates

Both Republican candidates are incumbents. Frank Saccomandi IV serves as mayor, a title that rotates among committee members. His current term expires Dec. 31. Ben Stoller is a sitting committeeman.

The Democratic challengers come from township boards. Beth Zall serves on the Millburn Zoning Board of Adjustment. Bill Brazell is a member of the Millburn Environmental Commission.

Residents will choose two of the four candidates. The winners will each serve a four-year term on the committee.

How to watch

The forum will be held on Zoom. The meeting ID is 820 6960 4272 and the passcode is 846214.
