The U.S. Army Field Band's Jazz Ambassadors will perform a free concert at Livingston High School on Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.

Admission is free.

The 19-piece ensemble, formed in 1969, is the official touring big band of the United States Army. The group has earned the nickname "America's Big Band" through decades of performances across all 50 states and overseas. The Livingston stop is part of the band's fall 2026 tour, which coincides with the Army Field Band's 80th anniversary.

The concert will take place at the school's Fitness and Wellness Center, 30 Robert H Harp Drive, and runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Free tickets are available through Eventbrite. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the show.

The Jazz Ambassadors' setlist draws from a wide range of styles: big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, Dixieland, vocals and patriotic selections. Many of the arrangements are written by members of the ensemble.

The Washington, D.C.-based group has shared stages with the Boston Pops, the National Symphony, the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Seattle Symphony. The band has also performed at Carnegie Hall with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops, at the Toronto Jazz Festival, the Kennedy Center Honors and on the Colbert Report.

Residents with questions about the concert can contact Jim Hegedus at [email protected], according to the Township of Livingston.
