Livingston families have until Friday, Sept. 11, to sign up their children for the township's after-school leadership program. Livingston Youth & Community Services covers life skills, healthy decision-making and community service for students in grades 1 through 12 in the Livingston school district.
Registration opened Tuesday, Sept. 1, and can be completed online through Community Pass or in person at the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Ave., according to a township announcement. The program is administered through Livingston Township Recreation & Senior Services.
The deadline is firm.
LYCS splits its programming into four age groups. Young Leaders serves first and second graders, and Leaders covers grades 3 through 5. Both elementary tracks are currently listed for students at Harrison and Hillside Schools. Peer Leaders, for grades 6 through 8, and Community Leaders, for grades 9 through 12, meet during evening sessions and focus on leading community initiatives.
Beyond the core after-school sessions, the program offers family socials, expressive arts activities, environmental projects and community service opportunities, according to the township.
The announcement does not list a registration fee. It also does not specify when the 2026-27 program year begins.
In-person registration hours at the Senior/Community Center run Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., through the Sept. 11 deadline. Families with questions can contact Program Coordinator Jennifer Quirk at 973-535-7925, ext. #7209, or by email at [email protected].
