Livingston residents near Amelia Avenue may lose water service Tuesday, July 21, as the township conducts scheduled water main repairs on the street.

The work runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to a civic alert the township posted Monday, July 20. Drivers should plan alternate routes around the work zone during that window.

What residents should know

The township warned of possible water service interruptions throughout the eight-hour repair window. Residents who notice air bubbles or discoloration in their tap water should run the cold water faucet closest to their water meter until the water clears.

The alert did not specify which blocks of Amelia Avenue are affected or the scope of the repair.

Second water main repair this month

The Amelia Avenue job is at least the second water main repair in Livingston in July. The township performed similar work at Hickory Place on Tuesday, July 14, also from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the same advisory about possible interruptions and discolored water.

The Hickory Place alert explicitly warned of traffic delays. The Amelia Avenue notice does not use that language but does ask motorists to find alternate routes.
