Livingston's boys cross country team finished its Super Essex Conference (SEC) American Division dual meet season 8-2, beating Millburn and Verona in the final meet at Cedar Grove.
The Lancers posted a 17:19 team average at Cedar Grove's cross-country course, as first reported by the West Essex Tribune. That is 36 seconds faster than the 17:55 average the team ran at the same course to close the 2025 season.
Livingston also went undefeated against non-divisional opponents this fall. The number of those meets was not specified.
The dual meet record matches last year's 8-2 mark, but the faster team average signals a stronger group heading into the postseason.
Livingston is among the contenders for the Essex County Championships on Oct. 23, according to NJ.com. Seton Hall Prep is the favorite. Millburn, Columbia, Montclair and West Orange round out the contender list.
The county championship meet is the next major test for the Lancers.
