A heat advisory took effect across the tri-state area at noon Tuesday, July 14, and Livingston residents should prepare for three consecutive days above 90 degrees.
Wednesday, July 15, is forecast to be the hottest day, with highs approaching 100 and heat index values exceeding that mark, according to NBC New York. Thursday, July 16, should bring temperatures back to the low-to-mid 90s before the wave breaks.
The Township of Livingston issued a safety advisory Tuesday urging residents to run air conditioning during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and never leave children unattended in vehicles. Residents with questions about heat safety can contact the Livingston Health Department at 973-535-7961.
For those heading outdoors Wednesday evening, the township's free Summer Concert Series continues with The Cliffs, an eight-piece cover band, performing at the Gazebo in Memorial Oval & Park from 7 to 9 p.m. Bring water.
