The Livingston Health Department will host a free kidney health presentation on Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Senior/Community Center.
The township's Health Department and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center are co-hosting the one-hour session from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. It will be held in Tahaney Room 1 on the first floor at 204 Hillside Ave. The talk will cover steps residents can take to maintain kidney health, including causes and treatment of kidney stones.
Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center, is part of the RWJBarnabas Health system and is based in Livingston.

Kidney stones affect a growing share of Americans. National health survey data published by Renal & Urology News showed the prevalence among U.S. adults rose from 8.9% to 9.9% between 2007 and 2020. The increase was sharpest among women, climbing from 6.5% to 9.1% over the same period.
The presentation is the latest in a series of health programs at the Senior/Community Center. Livingston's Mayor's Wellness Campaign earned the top "Healthy Town" designation from the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute for 2025, according to the township.
