Residents near Garnet Terrace and North Ashby Avenue in Livingston will see an increased police presence on Tuesday, July 14, as the Livingston Police Department conducts training exercises in the neighborhood.
The exercises are scheduled to run from approximately 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to an alert the township posted on its official website on Sunday, July 12.
There is no emergency.
The township described the activity as "standard training exercises" and said there is no cause for alarm. The five-hour window covers the midday period when foot and vehicle traffic in the residential area is typically heaviest.
The department did not specify what type of training will take place, how many officers will be involved, or whether any roads or sidewalks will be temporarily closed. The notice did not name a spokesperson for further questions.
Police Chief Gary Marshuetz leads the Livingston Police Department, which serves the township's roughly 27,000 residents. The department posted the alert prominently on its homepage alongside other active community safety notices, giving residents about two days' advance warning before the exercises begin.
