Livingston residents near Chestnut Street will see a heightened police presence Tuesday, Aug. 11, but there's no emergency. The Livingston Police Department is conducting all-day training exercises in the area from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The township posted the notice Monday, Aug. 10, on its official website, describing the drills as standard training exercises and stating there is no cause for alarm.

The notice does not specify what type of training will take place. No road closures or detours were announced.

Tuesday's exercise is the third such drill in Livingston residential areas in recent weeks. The department held similar training near North Ashby Avenue on July 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and near Garnet Terrace and North Ashby Avenue on July 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each time, the township issued a public notice the day before the exercise using identical reassurance language.

The pattern suggests the department is rotating training locations through different neighborhoods this summer.
