Seven road closures are active across Millburn on Tuesday, Aug. 11, a sharp increase from the two locations posted Monday, Aug. 10.

The township's CivicAlerts page lists the following closures:

  • 99 White Oak Ridge: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • 249 Millburn Ave.: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Adams Ave. at Birch Ln.: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Puritan Rd. at Hamilton Rd.: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Taylor Rd. S. at Dogwood Dr.: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Twin Oak Rd. at Taylor Rd.: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 85 Woodland Rd.: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday's alert listed only two closures: 249 Millburn Ave. and Adams Ave. at Birch Ln. The jump to seven suggests the township's summer paving project has not wound down as the lighter Monday schedule implied.

Two of Tuesday's locations, 99 White Oak Ridge and Twin Oak Rd. at Taylor Rd., had not appeared on the Aug. 6, 7 or 10 daily closure alerts, according to a review of the township's recent postings. Work along the Puritan Rd. and Hamilton Rd. corridor had previously appeared on the Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 alerts before dropping off the list.

The paving project has generated daily road closure alerts since at least July 20, with daily totals ranging from two to ten locations. Aug. 5 had been characterized in a prior township alert as the final day of Phase 2 summer paving work, but closures have continued daily through at least Aug. 11. The township has not publicly clarified whether the ongoing work represents a new phase or an extension.

All closures are weather permitting, according to the township.
