Seven Millburn streets are closed Thursday, July 23, as contractor JA Alexander continues milling and paving work on the township's Phase 2 road project.

The closures, posted by Millburn Township, affect a mix of residential streets and intersections across town:

  • 67 Great Hills Rd. — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • 38 Willow St. — 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • 249 Millburn Ave. — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Taylor Rd. S. at Chatham Rd. — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • South Terrace at Twin Oak Rd. — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • 85 Woodland Rd. — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Adams Ave. at Birch Ln. — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All closures are weather permitting.

Thursday marks the second full day of Phase 2 work, which began Wednesday, July 22. The project is expanding into new sections of the township. Great Hills Road and Willow Street were not on any closure notices earlier in the week, based on a review of township alerts.

Five streets on Thursday's list — Millburn Avenue, Taylor Road South, South Terrace, Woodland Road, and Adams Avenue — also appeared on Wednesday's closure notice, indicating work there is continuing into a second day.

The township announced on Monday, July 20, that JA Alexander's work hours run 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and that all Phase 2 roads are expected to be finished by Wednesday, August 5.

Residents on affected streets should remove vehicles from driveways by 7 a.m. each morning. Cars may be parked on side streets during construction. The township noted that parking may be limited near South Terrace, between Hobart Road and the Route 124 service road, and near Tulip Lane.

The township asks drivers to follow all posted road signs and detours in work zones.
