A seven-bedroom Livingston home sold for $3.19 million and a Short Hills property fetched $3.155 million during the week of Sept. 14–20, according to NJ.com property transfer records.
The Livingston sale, at 9 Lafayette Drive, topped Livingston transactions for the week. The 6,535-square-foot house, built in 2007, has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It closed Aug. 26 at $488 per square foot. The property ranked second among the 10 most expensive Essex County sales that week.
In Short Hills, 11 Cayuga Way led with a $3,155,000 sale. The 4,337-square-foot home, built in 1961, closed Aug. 28 at $727 per square foot. It ranked third countywide.
Four other Short Hills homes also changed hands:
- 2 Briarwood Drive: $2,415,000 (4,698 sq. ft.; $514/sq. ft.)
- 20 Kean Road: $1,875,000 (2,874 sq. ft.; $652/sq. ft.)
- 184 Old Short Hills Road: $1,810,000 (2,660 sq. ft.; $680/sq. ft.)
- 137 Hobart Ave.: $1,738,982 (1,869 sq. ft.; $930/sq. ft.)
Livingston recorded eight sales total. Beyond the Lafayette Drive property, two others topped $2 million: 6 Deal Lane at $2,250,000 (1,758 sq. ft.; $1,280/sq. ft.) and 52 Congressional Parkway at $2,100,000 (1,972 sq. ft.; $1,065/sq. ft.). The remaining five ranged from $1,060,000 at 48 W. Cedar Street to $1,725,000 at 18 Belvidere Drive.
Millburn posted two sales: 18 Sunset Drive at $1,182,000 (1,331 sq. ft.; $888/sq. ft.) and 406 Millburn Ave. at $612,188 (1,742 sq. ft.; $351/sq. ft.).
Across Essex County, 176 residential sales were recorded for the week, with an average sale price of $897,557 and an average of $410 per square foot. The countywide median sale was a 1,516-square-foot home on Carrie Court in Nutley at $710,000.
The prior week's top Short Hills sale was higher. A home at 2 Spenser Drive sold for $4 million during the week of Sept. 7–13, when the county averaged $983,748 per sale across 146 transactions, according to NJ.com data.
