The Livingston Board of Education accepted the resignation of Carlos Cordova, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Livingston High School, at its Oct. 14 meeting.
Cordova's final day of employment was not provided, according to the West Essex Tribune. The board had approved his appointment just months earlier.
An August board action showed Cordova was set to begin serving as the high school's newest Board Certified Behavior Analyst on Nov. 1. His resignation was accepted before that start date.
The board also approved a leave of absence for Livingston High School assistant principal Mary Kate Pretto. Her leave began Oct. 12, and she will return to work as of Feb. 7. No reason for the leave was listed in the board's personnel actions.
Several other staff leaves were approved at the same meeting. Diana Miranda-Evangelista, a school nurse, will be on leave from April 1 through Nov. 19, 2027. Bus aide Neeraja Rao was retroactively approved for leave beginning Aug. 1 and will return Nov. 2. Heather Bannon, an elementary school teacher at Riker Hill Elementary School, was retroactively approved for leave from Sept. 2 through Oct. 19.
The board approved two new appointments as well. Banupriya Ramesh will serve as a bus aide, and Patricia Forde will serve as a playground aide at Riker Hill Elementary School. Both were retroactively approved to begin as of Oct. 5.
Aiden Stephenson was appointed as a substitute teacher on an as-needed basis for the remainder of the school year.
