More than 15,000 donated books will fill the Livingston Public Library's Program Room starting Thursday, Oct. 22, when the Friends of the Livingston Public Library open their annual BookFEST sale.

The four-day event runs through Sunday, Oct. 25. Board President Doreen Mollenhauer said the sale covers fiction and nonfiction for all ages and in many languages, with special sections for signed books, ex-library books at half price and a collection dedicated to The Royals.

"We are very excited to offer the public more than 15,000 books and a variety of other items," Mollenhauer said, according to the West Essex Tribune.

New this year is a "Merchandise Market" in the Local History Room, featuring electronics and household items, Mollenhauer said. The non-print section also includes CDs, audiobooks, Blu-rays, DVDs, games, puzzles and tabletop toys.

Sunday is "Bag Day."

Shoppers can fill bags for a flat rate.

Friends members get early access on Wednesday, Oct. 21, starting at 11 a.m., according to a message from Library Director Amy Babcock. Non-members can sign up at the door or join online through the library's website.

The Friends group, an all-volunteer nonprofit, raises money for library programs the township budget doesn't cover. Those include the Museum Pass Program, which provides free admission to area museums and parks, along with summer reading programs, concert series and lifelong-learning lectures.
