Recruits in the Millburn Police Department's Junior Police Academy moved from drills to detective work on Tuesday, Aug. 18, during the program's second day.
The Township of Millburn said on X that the session included impaired awareness and prevention training, physical training, a K-9 demonstration from the Essex County Sheriff's Department and instruction in detective crime scene processing.

The outside agency involvement marked a step up from Day 1. As we reported Aug. 17, the academy opened with orientation, marching drills and demonstrations from the Millburn Fire Department and the Millburn Short Hills First Aid Squad.
