The Township Committee on June 18 awarded a contract for improvements to Taylor Park's Millburn Avenue entrance after rebidding lowered costs without changing the design. The project will add landscaping, improve accessibility and safety, and protect the park's historic elm tree while preserving the nearby Walbridge Rose Garden.

Meanwhile, the Town Hall renovation at 375 Millburn Ave. is officially out to bid. Contractors have until July 23 to submit proposals, with construction expected to take about 450 days once a contract is awarded. The building has already been gutted as part of an earlier environmental cleanup, and township offices remain in a temporary location during the project.

No start date has been announced for the Taylor Park work.
