The next generation of musical theater performers is heading to Montclair.

Students from Paper Mill Playhouse's Summer Musical Theater Conservatory will present "New Voices of 2026: On Vacation" at Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State University on July 31 and Aug. 1 while Paper Mill's Millburn theater undergoes construction.

The world-premiere concert will feature young performers ages 10 to 18 showcasing the skills they built during a five-week intensive program focused on acting, singing, audition technique and dance.

Performances are scheduled for:

  • Friday, July 31, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 1, at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The annual showcase is usually held on Paper Mill's main stage in Millburn, making this year's Montclair venue a rare change of scenery. The Conservatory, founded in 1996, has produced stars including Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway and Tony Award winners Laura Benanti, Nikki M. James and Ali Stroker.

Tickets are available through Paper Mill Playhouse.
